The PixYourBiz.com: Home Business Resource Center
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Not all pixel pages are created equally. I'm sure you have questions as to the purpose behind this site and how it can help you grow your business.

What is the purpose of PixYourBiz.com?

This site was created to benefit people looking for quality home business partners and resources.

The advertisers on this site are active business women and men, working from home. Some are part-time, others work more than 30 hours a week.

As you probably know, the home business industry is huge, and growing every year. If you are just getting started, trying to sort through the maze of opportunities to find the right products, the right sponsor, and the right timing is daunting. This site helps in your search.

For experienced home business professionals, the resources available here at PixYourBiz.com help you make the most of your time and energy, so you can build a healthy residual income in the company of your choice.

Why should I advertise on this site?

Online businesses are great because they often have company produced presentations right on the screen. The trouble is getting serious people to look at your opportunity. No matter how many leads you buy, or people you meet in line at the grocery store, nothing beats your own generated lead. When you advertise on this site, the people who visit your presentation or who contact you will have selected your business out of the many advertised on this site. Therefore, the quality of your partner prospect will increase.

Secondly, this site offers semi-exclusivity. Each company has no more than 3 representatives, thus locking you in as a key expert in your company.

All advertisers also receive a listing in our Companies/Sponsors page. Your listing includes another link to your website, your contact information, and a 30 word introduction to our viewers. For an additional $25, you may include a photo image next to your listing on the company page.

Additionally, this site is extremely cost-effective. Google is great, obviously, but CPC advertising can get out of hand. With a one time advertising cost, you receive an entire year's worth of visits from quality business seekers.

Finally, if you want to advertise business resources, this is your opportunity to share the best tools while earning affiliate revenue to grow your bottom line.

How do I advertise my business or referral link?

The process is real easy. First, make sure you know the website address you wish to advertise. This will be in the form of http://www.myonlinecompany.com/username that you get from your company or affiliate source.

Next, consider making a graphic for your advertisement. This does not have to be the same size as the ad you will choose. Our system will resize your ad. However, for best results, you should design your ad for the same size as the blocks you will by, in multiples of 10 pixels. A single block is 10x10 pixels. An ad with 4 horizontal boxes and 2 rows would be 40x20.

If you do not have a graphic, you will have the opportunity to select from our gallery of images.

Then click "Get Pixels" at the top of this page. You'll then need to choose between our Internet Entrepreneur zone (the top 70 rows, good for one year), which will give you the most exposure, or the Internet Marketer zone (the bottom 30 rows, good for 100 days). The Entrepreneur Zone is $25 per block ($0.25/pixel), while the Marketer Zone is $10 per block ($0.10/pixel).

Choose which box or boxes you wish to advertise on. Each time you select a box, the screen will refresh, and a red blinking X will show where you have selected. To pick multiple boxes, be sure to choose boxes next to each other.

Once you have all the boxes selected, click "Link the Fields," and fill out the form on the next page.

What if I change the company I want to advertise?

Each ad is an annual advertisement for the particular website you submit at the time of purchase. If you wish to represent another company, you will need to purchase an additional ad.

You may however change your website link and image. The first time you request a change, your ad will be modified free of charge. Additional changes to an ad (either image or link) will incur a $5 fee.

Can I advertise for more than one business or affiliate?

Absolutely. However, each company or affiliate you represent must be advertised by a separate advertisement, and is still subject to the 3 representative maximum.

You may not advertise to a generic website that is home to multiple opportunities.

Who can advertise on this site?

Any representative or owner of a network marketing company can advertise on this site. However, only 3 representatives from the same company are allowed to advertise at the same time. If the company you represent is already filled, please email me to place yourself on the waiting list. When an ad expires (either 100 or 365 days), you will be contacted as the next potential representative of your company.

Additionally, any affiliate of a home business resource (such as a lead source, website service, newsletter generator, autoresponder system, HYIP, etc.) may advertise. Again only three representatives of any single resource are allowed.

How soon will my ad show up?

Because all ads need to be screened for exclusivity and appropriate links, your ad will not be posted immediately. In most cases, your ad will appear within 24 hours. If you posted an ad, and more time has gone by, please use the feedback link above to contact me about your ad.

How do you know these companies are legit?

To be honest, I don't. However, I will not knowingly allow advertising from a representative of a company that is fraudulent or engaging in illegal activities. If such an advertiser is discovered, their advertising will be removed.

I caution any person who is researching their future with any company to do your due diligence. I offer this site as an additional tool in your quest for the best match for your circumstances.

I especially warn you to research any HYIP (High Yield Investment Program) that appears on this site, as they tend to disappear quickly, and there is absolutely no guarantee of any return on your investment.

Aren't all network marketing companies just pyramid schemes?

Some companies out there are nefarious, indeed, but the reality is, network marketing companies are typically the best form of enterprise in our capitalist system.

Typically, a network marketer is paid to sell a product or service for a commission. Either they buy the product for wholesale and earn a retail markup, or they earn a straight commission from the monthly or one-time cost of the product or service. In this regard, a network marketer is just a marketer.

However, a network marketer is also paid to train and develop others on their team, so they can reach more people. Once a person finds a niche market, they can reach more customers by "hiring" others. But instead of hiring a person, paying them a low wage, and having the expenses of employees, a network marketer trains a business partner. In this way, both coach and team member develop their incomes together.

As far as pyramids, the legitimate companies out there are recognized by the Better Business Bureau or other industry "watchdogs" for their business practices.

The reality is most corporations are pyramid schemes in the traditional sense. Those at the top get paid the most, and there is no way for a person in the middle or at the bottom to earn more than the people above them.

The shape of a compensation plan doesn't make a pyramid scheme. In fact, our federal government, school systems, and corporate America are all in the shape of a hierarchical pyramid.

Let me also add this. In real estate, a broker is paid to sell houses, she earns a percentage of the sale of the property. To become wealthy, most real estate agents train and develop indepedent (but affiliated) real estate agents in their office. When the agent sells a house, he earns a percentage, but splits this with the broker/manager, who receives her "override" commission as compensation for training the new agent. This is the same thing that happens in network marketing, except that all independent business owners earn the same commissions on their individual work. Certainly, no one says the Real Estate industry is a pyramid scheme.

Didn't you steal this idea from the UK guy?

Pixel pages have been around since late August, thanks to Alex Tew's Million Dollar Homepage, or course. But a lot of pixel sites out there are chaotic displays of vanity.

Now that MDHP is completely full, more advertisers are looking for quality websites to utilize to get their message out.

Although the original idea of pixel pages is Alex's, PixYourBiz is the first pixel page (at least that I know of) to focus solely on the needs of those looking to grow a home business.

Who is the manager of this site?

My name is Bob Jenkins--I'm a full-time high school teacher in Maryland. Since 1999, I've worked online to supplement my teacher's salary so I can afford to live in one of the 10 wealthiest counties in the country.

As owner of Shylar's Quest Internet Services, a Howard County Chamber of Commerce member, I've sought to help small businesses and individuals build successful enterprises using the internet. For the central Maryland area, I manage MyColumbiaGuide.com, a CityAmerica website.

In my experience of network marketing, I've discovered that nothing is more important to a successful home business than the right blend of timing, great service or product, and the relationship between a new independent business owner and their coach.

What subjects do you teach?

During the 2005-06 school year, I teach U.S. History (post-Civil War) to ninth graders. Additionally, I work with a group of seniors and juniors in an elective, World Religions. I also coach the academic team at our school. I've taught and coached since 1997.

What company do you work with?

Currently, I work with several online businesses. This is due to my belief that there is no one right business for every single person. My central purpose in having a network marketing business is to help others; by coaching multiple opportunities, I can make sure the opportunity I introduce to someone matches their strengths, and downplays their weaknesses.

I am a proud business owner of:

AmeriPlan USA

The largest provider access organization of discount health benefits. Since 1992, we have made health care available again to the average American who is being shut out of the current health care system.

Global Domains International

GDI provides an excellent package of domain registration, hosting, and business partnership. As the primary reseller of .WS domains (Western Samoa--or WebSite), GDI has a niche market for the exploding domain registration market. With this company, I am able to help families and small businesses have affordable, and easy to find, websites.

PixMeUp.com

The newest business of the group, PixMeUp.com is the first network marketing company of pixel pages, and the fastest growing pixel site on the internet. Started by an industry veteran, Russ Medlin, PixMeUp.com grew to three million pixels sold in its first 8 weeks in business.
